Anargyroi: FMS Foundation, Inc. (AFI) is the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (UST-FMS) foundation and aggregator of donated funds for the UST-FMS. The Development Office – Alumni Relations (DO-AR) is established to implement its mission.
It may be several decades late, but now, the UST-FMS through AFI-DO-AR, can raise funds on her own rather than solely depending on others to sustain her needs in maintaining and advancing academic excellence.
AFI, being financially independent, can assure its donors of financial transparency and their contributions go directly and exclusively to benefit the FMS.
We shall succeed in alignment, harmony, and support of loyal UST medical alumni, here and abroad, along with other philanthropists and organizations.
Anargyroi is a Greek word that means “the penniless ones.” It is a name given to the twin brothers, Saints Cosmas and Damian, who refused to accept payments for healing the sick—insisting it is Christ’s doing.
In honor of the two philanthropists, the Anargyroi: UST FMS Foundation was established in 2017. Born out of the eagerness of four UST FMS alumni to give back to their beloved Alma Mater, Anargyroi has then grown into a community of grateful and generous Thomasian graduates who share the same passion for making a difference in medical education.
Today, Anargyroi: UST FMS works with Development Office-Alumni Relations to implement its mission.
